Washing Board Decoration

I bought this washing board months ago. It was new. The shop owner said she knew sooner or later someone would buy it. I could hear in her voice it was later :)

Here is what I would like to have:

:) I think this would be a great garden feature.

In the meantime, I have time to play with this washing board and try different decor options with it.
I thought I should 'weather' my washing board a little. I used vinegar and steel wool and it looked as if it had been in bush fire :( Then I had to bleach it.
Turned out OK.
For now, I decorated it with vintage soap labels from The Graphics Fairy and some other items. I also made these little cards that remind me what to use to remove most common stains. The frame is also from The Graphics Fairy.

This is going to cheer up my small, very small laundry, don't you think?

Have a great weekend, everybody xox

Romantic Little Crochet Purse

Remember my 'down-to-earth' bag? Well, this one is not down-to-earth at all :)

This is a cute, romantic little purse I made remembering how we played 'ladies' when I was a kid.

I can hardly wait to take my little purse for a Sunday walk :)

Wash-Your-Hands Sign

Here's another quick and easy project.

Recently someone asked for something like this. She said she had a four-year old she wanted to train.
By the time I made this, she already had another solution.
But I kinda liked this one with a graphic taken from The Graphics Fairy. (You're being watched! Haha)
It's nice walking around your own home while things around you put smile on your face :)

Now my son is 17 but he also thought this would be fun. So I let him chose the colour.
The frame came from Salvos, of course.

So far so good. Now I'm spray-painting jars to add to my bathroom :)
Alex likes blue, so be it.

Down-to-Earth Bag

OK. I needed to do something different.
So I made this simple bag :) (Like it very much.)
I used cotton cooking twine  and the only embellishment is this huge, simple bamboo button.

In the spirit of Valentine, here is my little wire & coking twine heart with a smaller button and a little something to celebrate gorgeous Australian nature.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Valentine's Crafts 3 - More to Wire & Twine Hearts

Hi there! Its weekend again :)

I work full time in an office I have to travel to for almost 2 hours.
Yes, two hours one way. Lots of reading time :)
However, that means being exhausted most of the time :(
But I still can't give up crafting and this blog, which makes every weekend so precious.

OK, enough whinging - let's go to my plans for this weekend.
I'd like to complete 3 projects and here's the first one.
In fact, I just tried a couple of variations to my wire & twine hearts here. (I was sooo encouraged by your kind comments - thank you very much!)

(Boy, I really need to improve my photography skills! Sorry about this.)

For this one I used cotton cooking twine and a bamboo button - the same material I used for my 'Down-to-Earth Bag' (coming in my next post). So here's the result:

And here's one with raffia. I love the texture of this one but it does require a little more patience to connect the pieces of raffia. Here it is:

That's it for now, I'm off to finish my bag!

Valentine's Crafts 2 - Easy Made Hearts

This is a nice craft to do with kids - all you need is some wire and twine.
Shape the wire and wrap it with twine. Then you can add any embellishments you like. Or not :)
