Recycle: From Trash to Flower Wall Decor

This week I've recycled some trash into a fine flower wall decor.

I bought a slow cooker a year and a half ago. I was packet with these styrofoam 'bumpers':

Now, organising experts say if you haven't used it for a year, you probably never will - get rid of it.
Nope.
I'm a very busy woman - everything takes more time for me. So I kept my styrofoam trash.
This week I finally made it.
I had those sewing patterns I found at Salvos (some months ago). I had no clue what I wanted to do with them at the time I bought them.
Then I found that 'animal print' Scotch tape. And that's all I needed for this project.

I covered the 'frame' with the tape. Then I took the sewing pattern and just cut circles in four different sizes - 12 circles of each size.
I scrunched the paper lightly and than worked with it a little so that the flowers look a little fluffy.
(You can do whatever you want with tissue paper really and it will still look good.)

I used tiny nails to pin the flowers - the pins you can see here are there for the looks - they can't keep the flowers in place.

I love mu new wreath/frame. I will probably use it in different ways.
I like how it looks with a simple monogram.

I hope everybody's having a great weekend. We had some lovely Irish parties in Melbourne today.
To all our Irish friends: HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY! :)

Mother's Day Craft Ideas - Part One (Recycle)

Just a quick one today:

I recycled my old stockings and made this cute little bag. This one took four pairs. Just cut stripes 1-2 cm wide and use as yarn.

This is just an idea - you can let your imagination go wild and make whatever would suit your mom's style.
I bet mom won't mind to wear what used to be your pantyhose. Others will not be able to tell anyway.

More is coming :)

Love,
DK
