I've been making these crochet baskets lately.
I want to make a collection for my home and then some for sale.
The twine inspired me - this is not your regular yarn. I have experimented with cooking twine before:

Now this isn't cooking twine. The twine I've used for these baskets is thicker and a little grayish. It reminds me of sailing ropes, so the baskets kind of naturally tend to coastal decor. I really started loving these.
However, while I was working on my baskets, I found something great another blogger-sister is making.

ReplyDeleteThose baskets do have a beachy look and they are gorgeous. I also like the mauve ones done by the other lady. If you stick some crocheted flowers on them or hang some shells off of strings off the brim they'd look even cuter.
ReplyDeleteI'm crocheting shabby chic mauve cell phone covers with pink roses on for my girls Tracfone LG800G smart phones so they don't scratch their touch screens. The phone cost me $50 and 40 minutes for each kid cost me $5.99/month, real cheap.

These are absolutely wonderful. I made a door mat out of bailing twine and it has held up beautifully. Is there a pattern for these cotton string baskets? They would be wonderful for storing many things, plus very decorative. thank you, kathyroloff@hotmail.com
